Maori Point Barrel Reserve Pinot Noir Rosé 2019, Central Otago

Rosé from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 05-Feb-2021
Bright, even peach-pink colour with a light gold shade. The nose is restrained, elegantly presented, soft nuances of strawberries, peaches along a savoury line, subtle floral unveils. Medium-bodied, dry to taste, the palate is plush, aromas of peach, quince, strawberries and citrus have an elegant core and ripeness, subtle prickly black pepper accompanied by floral linger with the sweet fruit to a fine, long finish. The mouthfeel is smooth, slightly unctuous, adorn by very-fine velvety-textured phenolic. Acidity is integrated and lacy, supporting with freshness and persistent. This is an elegant Pinot Noir Rosé with fineness and poise, delicate fruit notes on a smooth-flow and long finish. Match with Peking duck and grilled octopus over the next 3 years. Handpicked, 6 hours on skins, fermented in neutral French oak barrels and aged for 18 months with regular lees stirred. 13.5% alc, <1 g/l RS. Vegan friendly. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Feb 2021 RRP $34.95
