Mansion House Bay Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 02-Mar-2015
Fruit from Wratts Road and Pauls Road, Rapaura, cool-fermented with some solids to 13.0% alc. and 7.0 g/L RS. Bright, even, light straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues on edge. This has a fresh and elegantly bound nose that shows depth, opening up in volume to show yellow stonefruit and pear aromas with hints of honeysuckle and florals, along with thirst-quenching mineral nuances. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, light fruit flavours of pears, honeysuckle and stonefruits are lifted by floral elements. This has good balance and vinosity, with a rounded mouthfeel, with fine textures and lively acidity. The flavours recede to a gently aromatic finish. This is a light-fruited off-dry, up-front Pinot Gris with gentle pear flavours. Match with Asian cuisine over the next 2+ years. 16.5-/20 Mar 2015 RRP $21.99
