95% Nero d’Avola and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon from 15 y.o. vines in Fulgatore, Erice, destemmed, given a cold soak and partially fermented in seasoned oak, the remainder in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. Very full black-red colour with purple hues, light-edged. The bouquet is elegant and restrained, with straightforward aromas of boysenberry and blackberry fruits along with an earthy note. Medium bodied and elegantly-proportioned, ripe, up-front flavours of boysenberries and dark, aromatic berry fruits are enlivened by bright, refreshing acidity. Grainy tannins underline the juicy, succulent fruit providing good body and a fulsome mouthfeel. The extract grows a little in firmness and linear drive, leading to a dry, fine-textured, moderately long finish. Restrained in aroma, this elegant Nero d’Avola has juicy and lively fruit and the tannins that lead to a dry finish.
