Maison Roche de Bellene Pommard 1er ‘Grands Epenots’ 2009

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 24-Mar-2012
Deep and full ruby-red colour with purple hues, a little cloudy, this has a full, savoury nose with soft-featured dark red berry fruits with mushroom, meat and brettanomyces aromas. Medium-full bodied, the palate shows rich and plush fruit flavours of dark red berry fruit, meat and savoury earth notes, the brett interwoven. There is good acidity and tannin grip, the mid-palate showing sweetness, but the finish tends towards savoury-sour flavours and drying tannin grip, A reasonably sturdy wine with fruit sweetness, to enjoy over the next 4-5+ years.  17.5+/20  Mar 2012  RRP $99.00
