Maison Roche de Bellene Gevrey-Chambertin 1er ‘Champeaux’ 2009

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 09-Feb-2012
Very dark, purple-hued ruby-red, youthful in appearance, this is a little restrained on bouquet, but with depth apparent. Bright dark plum fruits, upfront and vibrant, with oak spices and nuances of game emerge on the nose with air time. Medium-full bodied with concentrated, juicy fruit, this is lush and up-front, but has good drive from noticeable acidity. Dark berry fruits show good ripeness, and this is well-match by significant oaking. However, fine textured tannins provide a sense of style, and the wine finishes with moderate length. This will keep 8-10 years easily.  Feb 2012  RRP $135.00
