Main Divide Waipara Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 22-Apr-2015
Brilliant, light straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues. The nose is fresh, full and densely packed with an amalgam of green stonefruits and cooler spectrum grassy notes melded with complexing layers of flinty lees and minerals. Some tropical fruit elements emerge in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a concentrated core of harmoniously integrated flavours of greengages, gooseberries, cut grass and flinty minerals. The mouthfeel is gently luscious, with subtle textures allowing the sweetness to show. Fine, lacy acidity adds freshness and carries the flavours to a light, dry finish. This is a harmonious and succulent Sauvignon Blanc with green stonefruit and flinty less flavours. Match with most white meat dishes over the next 2+ years. Waipara Valley fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc., the wine aged on lees. 17.5/20 Apr 2015 RRP $19.95
