Main Divide Waipara Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 12-Jun-2014
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight lemony hues, pale on rim. The nose is fresh and aromatic with softly packed aromas of gooseberry and grassy fruit, along with lifted nuances of tropical fruits, the bouquet opening in volume with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, this has a soft-textured core of gooseberries, tropical fruits and herbs, lifted by youthful esters notes. The palate is up-front and juicy in fruit sweetness, with a fine phenolic line leading to a dry-textured, but crisp finish. This is a fresh, moderately juicy and lifted Sauvignon Blanc with a dry palate. Match with salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Waipara Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc., the wine aged on lees. 17.0+/20 Jun 2014 RRP $19.95
