Main Divide Waipara Valley Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 26-Nov-2014
Full, deep, light golden-yellow colour. The nose is full and openly accessible with aromas of exotic jasmine florals, tangerines and honey, revealing flinty, mineral and smoky nuances with aeration. Medium-dry to medium in sweetness, the palate features gently luscious and honied flavours of tropical fruits, exotic jasmine, and citrus fruits, revealing flint, minerals and smoky detail. The richness is moderated and balanced by softly ripe, lacy acidity and a very fine textural thread. This has a good core with line and drive, carrying the palate to a softly packed, luscious and lingering finish. This is a full, soft, honied medium Riesling with exotic fruit. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 5 years. Waipara Valley fruit with a portion botrytis-affected, cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 26 g/L RS. 18.5-/20 Nov 2014 RRP $19.95
