Main Divide Waipara Valley Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 21-Mar-2014
Full, light golden yellow colour with a slight blush, pale on rim. This has a full, bold and voluminoud nose of ripe yellow stonefruits, pears and honey with floral and minral notes that unfold in the glass. Medium in sweetness and medium-full bodied, robust and rich flavours of honey, apricots and stonefruits for a soft-textured core with good palate weight and presence. The mouthfeel has richness with restraint, and the palate opens out with breadth and roundness. The flavours flow with good drive to a fulsome, near opulent finish with yellow fruits, flint and honey notes. This is a full, robust and rounded, medium Pinot Gris with ripe stonefruit and honied flavours. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern fare, and most white meat dishes over the next 4 years. Waipara Valley fruit harvested with a small portion of botrytis, indigenous yeast fermented to 14.0% alc. and 16.1 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 18.0+/20 Mar 2014 RRP $19.95
