Main Divide Waipara Valley Chardonnay 2014

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 11-Jul-2015
Bright, even, light golden-yellow colour with lemon-green hues. This has a firm and finely concentrated nose with an amalgam of citrus and green stonefruits detailed by subtle herbal elements, unfolding layers of pungent flinty and mineral complexities. This is aromatic and intense in expression. Medium-full bodied, the palate is elegantly concentrated with flavours of citrus fruits and nectarines, along with a fresh herbal line, and harmoniously entwined flint and mineral notes. The mouthfeel has fresh, bright and lively acidity which is balanced by creamy barrel-ferment textures. The concentrated core is carried to a long and sustained finish of white peach and nectarine fruit flavours. This is a finely concentrated and intense Chardonnay with white and green stonefruits and a creamy, but refreshing mouthfeel. Match with seafood and herb-marinated poultry and pork dishes over the next 3-4 years. Waipara Valley fruit indigenous yeast barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 4 g/L RS, the wine aged one year in seasoned oak on lees with partial MLF. 17.5/20 Jul 2015 RRP $20.99
