Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Mar-2011
From the ‘Clayvin' and ‘Yarrum' sites on Brancott clay soils, fermented with a small whole-bunch component to 14.5% alc., then aged 18 months in oak. Very dark dense, purple hued ruby-red in colour, this has a full, but gently brooding aromatic bouquet of soft red berry fruits and darkish plums. A little locked-up in flavour, the structure and extract feature over the ripe fruit, but there seems to be the potential for excellent development over the next 5-6+ years. Match with most red meat dishes. Mar 2011
