Main Divide Riesling 2020, North Canterbury

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 09-Apr-2023
Bright, even pale yellow-gold. The nose is full and striking, with aromas of flint, mandarine, grapefruit, apricot, spice and honey. Medium-bodied, off-dry to taste, aromas of mandarine, grapefruit melded apricot, honey, flint and ginger. The mouthfeel is smooth flowing with a stony mineral texture. The acidity is vibrant and calming, with a great balance and energy. This Riesling is flinty and complex with a wide range of flavours and interests. Match with chicken liver and sea urchin pasta over the next 5+ years. A portion of grapes was late harvested with botrytis, free run juice slow fermented in cool temperatures to 12.8% alc, 19 g/l RS. 18.5-/20 pts (92 pts) Mar 2023 RRP $21.99
