Main Divide Pinot Noir 2022, New Zealand

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Other
Review Date : 08-Jul-2024
Moderately deep ruby-red, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is vibrantly full, packed with aromas of red cherry, raspberry, hint of herbs, earth and spice. Medium-full bodied, aromas of cherry and raspberry melded with thyme, liquorice, mushroom, black pepper and earth. A fine acid backbone supports the savoury red fruit. Earthy, savoury details enrich the palate, along with velvety tannins, leading to a long, elegant finish with substance and structure. Match with lamb and duck over the next 5+ years. Approx 40% whole bunches, cold soaked in vats, naturally fermented to 13% alc, aged Fench oak barriques for 18 months, 20% new oak. 18.5-/20 pts (92 pts) Jul 2024 RRP $26.99
