Main Divide Pinot Gris 2023, North Canterbury

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 02-Jul-2024
Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is rich and savoury with aromas of melon, ripe pear, honeysuckle, rose petals and spice. Full-bodied, dry-ish to taste, aromas of melon, ripe pear and quince intertwined with honey, honeysuckle, rose petals and ginger. The oily mouthfeel carries balanced, lively acidity throughout; fruit and a touch of sweetness provide weight and roundness, lending a dry, perfumed closing. This dry Pinot Gris is savoury, has good weight and a long, perfumed finish. Match with pork rillette and Peking duck over the next 3-4 years. Cool-fermented in stainless steel tanks to 13% alc, 8.7 g/l RS. Aged on lees for a short period. 18.5-/20 pts (92 pts) Jul 2024 RRP $21.99
