Main Divide Canterbury Pinot Noir 2008

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 11-Mar-2011
Made from fruit from Kaituna Valley and two sites in Waipara, fermented to 14.0% alc., and aged 12 months in oak, this was light ruby-red in colour and had a simple raspberryish nose with cooler herb elements showing. Sweetly succulent on front palate, the wine shows some grip and slight astringency alongside racy acidity, which moderates the fruit expression. Clean, clear and truly varietal, and food-friendly.  Mar 2011
