Deep, ruby-red with a purple hue and some transparency, light purple rim. The bouquet is gently penetrating deep fragrances of black raspberries, cherries, along with delicate florals, spices and aromatic herbs. Medium-full bodied, the palate possesses vibrancy and concentrated aromas of red cherries, plums, black raspberries, along with dark herbs form a taut core, unveiling cinnamon, nutmeg and black pepper, underlay delicate florals. The wine has a tight core of fine-grained tannins, which is youthful and silky in texture, subtle smokiness unfolded as the wine aerated, linger to an elegant, dry finish. The wine is young and shy, will benefit from ageing or decanting when served. Match with roasted duck and charred lamb over the next 4-6 years. Handpicked, fermented in small vats to 13% alc. 30% whole bunch. Aged in barrel for 9 months and further aged in bottle for 6 months. 18.5/20 pts Oct 2020 RRP $34
