Mahi Marlborough Rosé 2015

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Oct-2015
Bright, pale strawberry-pink colour, lighter on the rim. The nose is very fresh and aromatically lifted with raspberry and cream, cherry fruit and red florals harmoniously melded with subtle confectionary elements and youthful fermentation esters. This is youthfully primary in expression, building in depth with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, bright and lifted flavours of raspberry and cream show with vibrant red florals and sweet confectionary notes, along with fermentation esters. The fruit is sweet and rich, and harmoniously melded, and underlined by smooth, subtle textures, and enlivened by lively, refreshing acidity. The wine flows with good drive an linearity, leading to a thirst-quenching finish with delicate raspberry nuances. This is a bright, aromatic, sweet-fruited dry rosé with raspberry and cream flavours and a fine-textured, lively and vibrant mouthfeel. Serve with tapas and dim sum over the next 2 years. Hand-picked Pinot Noir fruit from the Reed’s ‘Twin Valleys’ vineyard in Fareham Lane, Waihopi, foot-stomped for skin contact and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and dryness. 18.0/20 Oct 2015 RRP $22.90
