Bright, light golden-yellow with a slight green hue, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is gently-full, warming over with complexing barrel-fermented nuances of buttery pastries, entwined with almonds, stonefruit, citrus and barrel spices. Medium-bodied, lively palate showing aromas of lemon curd, sherbet, apricots, enriched by whipped butter and toast. The palate is bright; complexing barrel notes are integrated into the wine, freshness of the fruit is leading the palate with lacy acidity, along a fine-textured phenolic line with a light grip; guiding the wine to a lengthy, elegant finish. Delicate spices linger on the palate. This is an elegantly balanced Chardonnay with fresh flavours of lemon curd, sherbet, apricot and spices, enlivened by complexing creamy palate and toastiness. Match with barbeque crayfish and chicken schnitzel over the next 3-4 years. Handpicked, whole-bunch pressed, barrel-fermented with full solids and indigenous yeast to 12.8% alc, aged on lees for 11 months, no protein-fining.
