M&A Wines Riesling 2020, Marlborough

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 25-Sep-2020
Bight, very youthful pale yellow, even colour throughout. The bouquet is fresh and vibrant, nuances of fresh-cut herbs, limes and zest, passionfruits, entwined with lime flowers and mouthwatering minerals. Off-dry, nuances of limes and its zest, passionfruits are focused, elderflower, lime flowers and fresh herbs melded with subtle honey harmoniously flow with mouthwatering minerals to a lingering finish. Acidity tension is electric, yet there's a softness, created by sugar balance, carries the wine with focus, flows with chalky mineral crunch along a vibrant, positive line, lingering to a long thirst-quenching finish. This is an elegantly lively Riesling with outstanding balance and fineness. Match with freshly shucked oysters and simple shellfish over the next 4-6 years. Riesling fruit from Waihopai Valley, fermented to 12.25% alc, 13.6 g/l RS. 19-/20 pts Sept 2020 RRP $25
