Mendoza clone fruit from the ‘Ma Maison’ and neighbouring vineyard, barrel-fermented to 14.2% alc., the wine aged 8 months in 2 and 3 y.o. French oak, given lees contact, but no stirring, and undergoing 100% MLF. Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, lighter on rim. The bouquet is full with building intensity of bright, ripe citrus fruit and yellow stonefruit aromas, along with nutty oak and buttery notes. Medium-full bodied, this has excellent presence and depth on the palate with good alcohol power and drive. The fruit flavours are a little restrained, but show citrus and stonefruits, intermixed with nutty, buttery notes. This has a creamy texture and warm mouthfeel, countered by good acid freshness. A fine textural thread is present and guides the palate to a sustained, nutty finish. This is a fulsome Chardonnay with ripe stonefruit and nutty flavours and a rounded mouthfeel.
