Lynfer Estate Wairarapa Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 21-Oct-2013
Brilliant straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. This has a soft, light nose with gentle gooseberry fruit aromas along with tropical fruit, herb and chalky, mineral nuances. Dry to taste, light, subtly luscious flavours of gooseberries, tropical fruits and herbs show with up-front vinosity and presence. The mouthfeel is fresh and lively with light, thirst-quenching acidity. The flavours flow with energy and fade to a dry, lightly textured finish with fresh herb flavours. This is a light, clean and up-front, gooseberry flavoured Sauvignon Blanc. Serve as an aperitif and with antipasto over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Lynfer Estate’ vineyard, Dakins Road, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.1% alc. and 2 g/L RS, the wine spending 1-2 months on lees. 16.0/20 Oct 2013 RRP $18.00
