Lynfer Estate Wairarapa Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 20-Apr-2011
Fruit from the Lynfer ‘Dakins Road' vineyard cool-fermented to 13.9% alc. and 0.4 g/L rs. Very pale straw-yellow with light green hues to the colour, this has a moderately intense, but fine and delicately attractive bouquet of English gooseberries and fresh herbs lifted with white floral notes. Dry to taste, this is an elegantly sized wine with tightly bound fruit flavours of gooseberries, herbs and nettles along with lime flowers. The palate shows racy acidity which enlivens the fruit sweetness. Youthful, fresh and up-front, the wine finishes with moderate length. Match wtth shellfish, but this will also be a good accompaniment with Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine over the next 2-3 years. 16.0+/20 Apr 2011 RRP 18.00
