Lynfer Estate Wairarapa Rosé 2012

Rose from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 18-Sep-2012
Hand-picked Pinot Noir fruit, rested on skins for 12 hours and fermented to 13.0% alc. and 8.4 g/L rs, the wine given some lees contact. Soft peach-pink colour, lighter on edge. This has a fresh and aromatic bouquet of red florals lifted by fresh, confectionary-like fermentation esters with light herb and stemmy undertones. Off-dry and medium-weighted, delicately lush and sweet flavours of strawberry and cherry fruit flow smoothly on a soft-textured palate. Slippery acidity enhances the juiciness, and esters add to the floral lift. Light herbal notes emerge on the finish. This is a soft, smooth and juicy rosé that is pretty and refreshing, with some herbal nuances. Serve as an aperitif and with antipasto over the next 2 years. 16.5-/20 Sep 2012 RRP $21.00
