Lynfer Estate Wairarapa Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 15-Nov-2014
Light, even ruby-red colour with slight purple hues on rim. This has an elegant and slender bouquet with a core of clean and bright red cherry fruit infused with mineral elements, unfolding lifted red florals. Medium-full bodied, a bright and lively core of dark red cherry fruit is intermixed with herb and red floral notes. The fruit is supported by fine, grainy tannin extraction balancing the subtle richness, and the mouthfeel is enlivened by refreshing, lacy acidity. The palate has a moderately deep core that leads to a light, lingering finish with bright floral and berry elements. Light on nose, this is a fresh, red cherry-fruited Pinot Noir with good structure and grip. Serve with firm-fleshed seafood, antipasto and poultry over the next 2-3 years. Fruit destemmed, given a cold soak and fermented to 13.96% alc., the wine aged in 15% new French oak. 16.0-/20 Nov 2014 RRP $26.00
