Lynfer Estate Wairarapa Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 18-Oct-2011
Clone 777 from the ‘Lynfer' estate, Gladstone, fermented to 13.4% alc., the wine aged 10 months in French oak with 15% new equivalence. Light ruby-red colour with some garnet hues. The bouquet has fresh, bright cherry-berry aromas with some red floral, herb and mineral notes, quite uncomplicated and direct in expression. Medium-light bodied, the fruit is in the cooler spectrum, with strawberry and herb flavours. Oaking is very much in the background. Fresh, racy acidity and light extraction provide a firmness to the mouthfeel, moderated by the delicate, but positive fruit sweetness. The finish carries nuances of raspberries and dried herbs with some length. An up-front, light and zesty Pinot Noir to serve with cold meats, salmon or tuna over the next 3-4 years. 15.5/20 Oct 2011 RRP $26.00
