Lynfer Estate Wairarapa Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 15-Nov-2014
Bright, very pale straw colour with the faintest hint of blush, near colourless on rim. The nose is fresh and pure with delicate aromas of exotic white florals and honeysuckle that unfold with ethereal clarity. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the fruit flavours are fresh and light, with lifted white florals and elements of honey. This has sweet nuances and a rounded core, the palate underlined by some alcohol power. The wine is smooth-flowing, the delicate fruit succulence balanced by very fine drying textures, which carry the fruit to a moderately long, dry finish. This is a delicately flavoured dry Pinot Gris with some alcoholic drive. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian fare over the next 2-3 years. Fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.2% alc. and 3.18 g/L RS., the wine aged 3-4 months on lees. 15.5+/20 Nov 2014 RRP $21.00
