Lynfer Estate Wairarapa Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 18-Dec-2012
A single vineyard wine, from the ‘Lynfer' site on Dakins Road, the fruit hand-picked and fermented to 13.3% alc. and 10 g/L rs. Brilliant, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. This is fresh and up-front on bouquet, with building aromas of white stonefuit and kernel notes along with mineral elements. Off-dry, light, clean white stonefruit flavours show with some honeysuckle hints. Some phenolic textures and sweetness underline the fruit forming a core and carry the palate line. The acidity is discreet, contributing to the freshness and crispness on the lightly nuanced, dry finish. This is a light, clean and crisp Pinot Gris with fine textures and a little sweetness to make it a match with dim sum and Asian cuisine over the next 18 months to 2 years. 15.5/20 Dec 2012 RRP $21.00
