Lowlands Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Feb-2013
Bright pale straw colour, pale on rim. The bouquet is full with fresh aromas of gooseberry fruit along with hints of nettles and limes, and a little bean-like bottle-age interest, the nose showing good depth. Dry to taste, light gooseberry fruit flavours show richness and juiciness, and are enlivened by crisp, racy acidity. The palate has a good, rounded core, but is mouthwatering and has a slippery mouthfeel. The fruit leads to a fine-featured finish with good length. This is an elegant and rounded Sauvignon Blanc that is mouthwatering and juicy, and is beginning to show some development interest. Match with first courses, salads and vegetables over the next 18 months to 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Lowlands' vineyard on Dillons Point Road, cool-fermented to 13.6% alc. and 3 g/L rs. 17.0/20 Feb 2013 RRP $19.00
