Louis Sipp Alsace Grand Cru Pinot Gris ‘Kirchberg de Ribeauville’ 2008

Pinot Gris from France - Alsace
Review Date : 07-Mar-2014
Bright, even straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues. This has a very tight and steely bouquet, showing wet stones and mineral reductive complexities with yellow stonefruits, exotic tropical fruit and saline intricacies. Off-dry to taste, complex salty, mineral, earth and terroir character is prominent. Subtle fruit aromatics and nutty, oxidative elements show some primacy, with fresh, bracing acidity contributing to the zesty energy and drive. There is weight and structure supporting the fruit and the extract provides the framework for much more development. This is serious with structure and funkiness. 6-8+ years ahead. 13.0% alc. 18.5/20 Feb 2014 RRP $68.00
