70% Pinot Noir from Verzenay and Verzy, 30% Chardonnay from grand cru and 1er cru sites, 30% aged in oak with batonnage and no MLF, the wine aged 4 years on lees, bottled with 8-10 g/L dosage. Full, soft lemon-yellow colour, with a persistent, fine bead. The bouquet is powerful and robustly fresh, with depth and density, showing Pinot Noir fruit with plenty of autolysed yeast bready-yeast extract elements, quite concentrated and firmly presented. Dry to taste, this is full-bodied, rich and mouthfilling with real depth. Layers of toasty flavour unfold with yeast-bread notes. This has great drive, the acidity discreet in support. Toasty oak elements become revealed on the finish. A powerful and individual wine, this will develop greater richness over the next 4-6 years.
