Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er ‘Clos St Jacques’ 2010

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 18-Feb-2014
Very dark, purple-hued ruby-red, youthful in appearance. The bouquet is packed with aromas of raspberry essence and fresh, bright, primary cherry and berry fruity notes, along with a fine herbal, whole bunch underlay, all lifted by whole berry fermentation confectionary aromatics. Rich on palate with a sense of elegance, showing up-front, luscious and plush primary red berry fruits and plum notes. Lovely freshness and juiciness, unfolding the most subtle herbal and oak complexities. The tannin extraction is restrained, allowing the fruit to feature. Excellent lacy, near racy acidity enhances the whole berry fruit bon-bon expression, and carries the flavours to the finish. This is an up-front sweet fruited Clos St Jacque with subtle nuances and whole berry lollyish notes. 10-12 years ahead. 19.0-/20 Feb 2014 RRP $N/A
