Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er ‘Cazetiers’ 2010

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 18-Feb-2014
Moderately deep ruby-red colour with some youthful purple hues, lighter on rim. The bouquet is elegant in proportion, somewhat restrained and shy initially with dark red berry fruits lifted with violet florals, the nose revealing savoury earth and minerals, a little whole bunch stemmy note? The oaking is integral and supportive, and removes any suggestions of rusticity. Very fine and firm on palate, the flavours of ripe, dark raspberries are lifted by fresh acidity, revealing florals and a little herbal underlay. Dusty tannin textures encase the fruit and the core is tightly bound, needing to open to reveal more. The acidity carries the palate, but this promises much. This is a firmly concentrated with a fine, textured palate. This will develop over the next 10 years. 17.5+/20 Feb 2014 RRP $N/A
