Lost Angel ‘Mischief’ California 2009

Blended Red from USA
Review Date : 09-Dec-2012
Dark, deep, ruby-red colour with black hues, some garnet on rim. This has a fully aromatic nose of ripe dark red berry fruits and plums infused with cedary oak and eucalypt, mint and leafy elements. Medium-full bodied, the palate is bright and lively with generously sweet fruit flavours and good acidity. Spicy plums, mint and eucalypt unfold to show liquorice and cedary detail. The mouthfeel is soft, smooth and warm, with a subtle tannin underlay, and the flavours flow smoothly to a sustained, spice and cedar nuanced finish. This is a generous, but lively, smooth and plummy Californian red blend. Serve with slow-cooked red meats and barbecued food over the next 4+ years. California fruit, 29% Zinfandel, 28% Petit Sirah, 21% Syrah, 15% Grenache and 7% Merlot, fermented to 13.5% alc. and 52% aged in French and American oak. 17.0+/20 Dec 2012 RRP $19.99
