Lost Angel California Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Cabernet Sauvignon from USA
Review Date : 09-Dec-2012
California fruit, 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Syrah, 8% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot, fermented to 13.5% alc. and 50% aged in new French oak. Very dark, deep and full black-hued ruby-red colour with purple hues. The bouquet is soft and full with mellow, ripe blackcurrant fruit melding harmoniously with cedary oak and meaty, game elements. Medium-full bodied, soft plum and liquorice favours are up-front and mouthfilling. The breadth and softness are enhanced by lowish acidity. Flavours of liquorice, prunes and milk chocolate give way to a core of blackcurrants, revealing a moderately firm core of tannin with rounded edges. The structure carries the flavours to a moderately sustained and dry finish with leaf and spicy oak. This is a textured and ripe Cabernet Sauvignon with a good core and drive, with spicy, cedary oak interest and a funkiness. Match with lamb casseroles and slow-cooked meats over the next 4-5 years. 16.5/20 Dec 2012 RRP $19.99
