Lone Hill ‘Single Vineyard’ Waitaki Valley Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 06-Aug-2013
Bright, pale straw colour, lighter on rim. The nose is elegant and ethereal with aromas of white florals and white stonefruits entwined with mineral and flinty elements that grow in intensity and depth. Dry to taste, finely presented and intensely penetrating flavours of white stonefruits, flint and wet stones form a fine-textured palate with a good linear core. Restrained acidity enlivens the mouthfeel, adding richness and energy to the fruit. An underlying raciness carries the flavours to a fine-featured, concentrated, minerally finish. This is a fine, well-concentrated dry Pinot Gris with a refreshing minerality. Match with seafood and poultry, or serve with Mediterranean-inspired fare over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from the ‘Lone Hill’ vineyard, cool-fermented to 13.3% alc. and 5.6 g/L RS. 18.0/20 Aug 2013 RRP $21.00
