Lone Goat Omaka Valley Marlborough Pinot Noir 2009

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 15-Feb-2016
Even garnet-red colour, lighter on the rim with brick hues. The nose is light and restrained with soft and gentle aromas red berry fruits entwined with complexing secondary dried herb and subtle earthy notes. The aromatics are moderately concentrated and lifted with red floral fragrances. Medium-full bodied, sweet and gently luscious flavours of red cherry and berry fruit intermingle with delicate dried herbal elements, The mouthfeel is fresh with balanced acidity and light tannin extraction providing supporting structure and a positive line. The wine flows positively with some alcohol drive carrying the palate to a lingering finish with red cherry and spice notes. This is an elegant Pinot Noir with gently rich, savoury secondary red berry fruit flavours, a fresh mouthfeel and light extraction. Match with antipasto, poultry and pasta over the next 3 years. Fruit from the Omaka, full destemmed and fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 25% new oak. 16.5+/20 Feb 2016 RRP $22.00
