Lone Goat Canterbury Unoaked Chardonnay 2010

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 15-Feb-2016
Bright, lemon-hued straw-yellow colour, lighter on the rim. This has a firmly concentrated, taut bouquet with steely, savoury white stonefruits entwined with herbal aromas, the fruit showing some secondary nutty notes, unfolding flinty, lanolin and waxy elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a softly concentrated core of white stonefruits melded with nutty notes and complexed by lanolin and waxy detail. The mouthfeel is smooth in texture with low acidity enhancing the softness. The wine follows a light phenolic thread leading to a soft, nutty and waxy finish. This is a soft-textured, unoaked Chardonnay with white stonefruit and waxy, nutty secondary development. Serve as an aperitif and with poultry dishes over the next 2 years. Chardonnay fruit indigenous yeast fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine given extended lees contact and undergoing partial MLF. 16.0+/20 Feb 2016 RRP $18.00
