Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on edge. The bouquet is soft and full with well-packed, lifted aromas of cut grass, herbs and green stonefruits, along with some secondary green bean and asparagus elements at the core. The aromatics are harmoniously integrated. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the fruit flavours of grass, gooseberries herbs and greengages are light and restrained in expression, forming a soft core. Secondary bean notes intermingle with the fruit. Soft, dry textures provide a positive line and fresh, lacy, zesty acidity lend energy as the wine carries a grainy, textural finish with grassy, herbal and green bean flavours. This is a dry-textured, crisp Sauvignon Blanc with restrained grassy flavours and some secondary bean-like development. Serve with Mediterranean fare and salads and vegetables over the next 18 months. Fruit fermented in tank by the ‘house yeast’ to 12.5% alc., the wine given extended lees contact. 16.5-/20 Feb 2016 RRP $18.00
