Lone Goat Canterbury Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 15-Feb-2016
Brilliant, light golden-yellow colour with some depth, lighter on the rim. This has a full, bold and solidly concentrated nose that opens in volume showing aromas of yellow florals, honey and musk with subtle layers of talc botrytis. This harmoniously presented, revealing nuances of herbs and toasty elements. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, flavours of citrus fruits, yellow florals and musk are entwined with musk, forming a rich and concentrated core. The mouthfeel is smooth and rounded with soft acid liveliness, and the palate flows easily, leading to a sustained, soft-textured finish with honey and toasty notes. This is a softly concentrated, smooth, off-dry Riesling with gently rich flavours of flowers, honey and musk. Match with Middle Eastern and Asian fare over the next 3-4+ years. Riesling fruit with approx. 5% botrytis, cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 5.8 g/L RS. 17.5/20 Feb 2016 RRP $18.00
