Lone Goat Canterbury Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 15-Feb-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with a light pink blush, pale on the rim. The nose has moderate volume with softly fresh aromas of ripe yellow stonefuits and yellow florals, unfolding red ferry fruit notes, honeysuckle and mineral elements. Medium in sweetness and medium-full bodied, the palate is gently rich with a bright core of ripe, yellow stonefruits, red fruits, florals and honeysuckle. The fruit flows along a grainy phenolic line with soft background acidity. Some alcoholic power drives the wine, leading to a dry-textured finish with light stonefruit and honeysuckle nuances. This is a gently rich, medium Pinot Gris with stonefruit and red fruit flavours and honeysuckle notes on a grainy, dry-textured palate. Serve with poultry and pork dishes over the next 3 years. Pinot Gris fruit tank-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 11.2 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 16.5+/20 Feb 2016 RRP $18.00
