Lone Goat Canterbury Late Harvest Riesling 2007

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 15-Feb-2016
Deep golden-yellow colour with light lemon hues on the edge. This has a well-concentrated and intense bouquet with complex aromas of savoury ripe citrus fruits entwined with toasty layers with cream and custard elements. The aromatics are lifted by subtle floral notes and earthy tertiary nuances emerge in the glass. Very sweet to taste and light-bodied, the palate is elegantly proportioned with deeply packed flavours of savoury citrus fruits, honey and toast, the fruit with secondary and tertiary nuances, tending to show drying. The mouthfeel is enlivened by bright acidity balancing the subtle unctuousness and rounded core. The wine carries to a long, lingering finish with fine, dry textures and nuances of cream, toast and honey. This is an elegant, intensely flavoured late-harvest Riesling with citrus, toast and honied flavours, and earthy tertiary development. Match with fruit-based, baked and caramel desserts over the next 3 years. Late picked Riesling fruit without botrytis and fermented to 8.0% alc. and 72 g/L RS. (375 ml) 18.0/20 Feb 2016 RRP $18.00
