Lone Goat Canterbury Ehrenfelser 2012

Other White from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 15-Feb-2016
Fruit from 1.2 ha of vines, > 30 y.o., fermented in tank to 12.0% alc. and 11.5 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. Full, bright straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The nose is gently full and up-front with soft aromas of yellow florals and citrus fruits, unfolding subtle secondary development notes of honey intermingling with toasty suggestions. Medium-dry to taste and light-bodied, accessible and soft flavours of yellow florals and ripe yellow stonefruits show with honeysuckle and toasty elements. The mouthfeel is rounded and the wine is smooth-flowing with seamless textures. The palate has subtle background acidity lending energy, and the wine carries easily to a delicately luscious finish of florals and honey. This is an elegant, up-front, soft and smooth, medium-dry Ehrenfelser with a little toasty development. Match with Asian fare over the next 2 years. 17.5-/20 Feb 2016 RRP $18.00
