Lone Goat Canterbury Botrytis Selection 2007

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 15-Feb-2016
100% Muller-Thurgau, fully botrytis-affected and fermented to 8.0% alc. and 254 g/L RS. Deep golden colour with orange hues, a little lighter on the rim. The bouquet is very full and densely packed with harmoniously integrated aromas of ripe citrus and tropical fruits along with honey, marmalade and crystallised dried fruits, lifted with some volatility. This is decadent and opulent in expression. Extremely sweet and lusciously rich on palate, the flavours are fully integrated with citrus fruits, tropical fruits, marmalade and honey, along with a whisker of volatility. The mouthfeel is unctuously smooth and seamless, with balanced acidity lending energy and tension. The wine flows gently to a long, lingering, viscous and rounded finish. This is a beautifully rich and decadent botrytised dessert wine with harmoniously integrated, opulent flavours and a seamless-flowing palate. Serve with steamed puddings or instead of a liqueur over the next 4-5 years. (375 ml) 19.0/20 Feb 2016 RRP $28.00
