Locharburn Central Otago Riesling 2011

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 29-Oct-2012
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. The nose is intense and powerfully concentrated, still tightly bound, showing an aromatic amalgam of white florals, wet stones and distinct mineral elements. Medium-dry to taste, flavours of citrus fruits infused with minerals reveal subtle sweet and sour hints, and flow very smoothly, driven by an underlying line of fine acidity and alcohol. Refined in texture, this has softness allied to good presence. Savoury lemonade-like flavours feature on a softly dry, gentle and lingering finish. This is a concentrated, soft-textured off-dry Riesling with lime and minerally flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian cuisine over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from 4 y.o. vines, hand-picked, WBP and fermented to 12.5% alc. and 13 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees for 2 months. 18.0-/20 Oct 2012 RRP $26.00
