Hand-picked fruit from the ‘Locharburn’ vineyard, WBP and fully barrel-fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 8 months on lees in puncheons and barriques, the wine undergoing partial MLF. Brilliant, full straw-yellow colour with some lemon-green hues. This has a tightly concentrated and penetrating bouquet of fresh citrus fruit entwined with creamy, nutty barrel-ferment and bacon oak notes, with butterscotch MLF, Medium-bodied, concentrated and focussed citrus fruit and butterscotch MLF flavours form a soft-textured and smooth core with excellent linearity. Fresh acidity adds to the flavour detail and lift, enlivening the palate flow. The wine flows with vitality and tension to a very long, densely packed and dry finish showing citrus fruits and nuts. This is a well-concentrated, smooth-flowing, lively Chardonnay with citrus and butterscotch flavours.
