Linden Estate Esk Valley Hawke’s Bay Viognier 2013

Viognier from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 04-Dec-2014
Brilliant lemon-hued straw-yellow colour. The nose is elegantly proportioned with finely detailed aromas of pure exotic floral and fresh apricot aromas, revealing stonfruits, citrus zest and steely mineral notes with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, intense and penetrating flavours of apricots, citrus zest and musky florals feature on the palate. The mouthfeel has a subtly creamy core with fine textures and some underlying alcohol drive. Crisp, lacy acidity provides balance, freshness and energy, leading to a soft, mellow finish. This is a refreshing, dry Viognier with a creamy core of exotic florals and apricot flavours. Serve with seafood and mildly spicy Asian cuisine over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the Dartmoor Valley fermented to 14.0% alc. and 4.1 g/L RS, the wine aged 6 months in French oak barriques. 17.5/20 Dec 2014 RRP $25.00
