Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour with lighter purple on the rim. The bouquet is initially tightly bound and shy, opening up to form a deep, softly concentrated core of ripe blackberry and dark red plum fruit entwined with nuances of savoury dried herbs, spices and subtle oak cedar elements. Medium-full bodied, fulsome, rich and plush flavours of blackberries and plums feature on the palate, and unfold savoury dried herb and cedary, nutty oak notes. The fruit is supported by balancing tannin structure and grip lending plenty of mouthfeel and presence. Fresh acidity underlines the fruit and line and the wine leads to a soft, sweet, black plum and spice-nuanced finish. This is a fulsome, juicy Merlot with blackberry and plum flavours and well-balanced structure. Serve with lamb, beef and venison casseroles over the next 6-8+ years.
