Lime Hill Wairarapa Chardonnay 2016

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 20-Jul-2018
Bright, light golden-yellow colour with some depth, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full with deep aromas of savoury yellow stonefruits and citrus fruit, along with creamy barrel-ferment elements, and nutty, flinty and mineral suggestions. Medium-full bodied, the palate has intensely full and rich flavours of savoury yellow stonefruits with subtle creamy barrel-ferment, mealy and nutty oak and hints of flint. The palate has good depth and presence with fresh acidity, the flavours filling the mouth. The wine carries with good drive, leading to a long, lingering, rich-fruited finish. This is a rich and well-packed Chardonnay with savoury yellow stonefruit flavours aling with creamy barrel-ferment and nutty detail and good acid energy. Match with poultry and pork dishes over the next 4 years. Predominantly Mendoza clone fruit fully barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 8 months in seasoned oak and 4 months on lees undergoing batonnage, without MLF. 18.5/20 Dec 2017 RRP $49.00
