Lime Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019, Wairarapa

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 21-Dec-2021
Deep, ruby-red, lighter on the rim. The nose is ethereal and enticing, deep aromas of herb, dried hibiscus, interweave dark cherries, plums, strawberries and a mineral lifting. Medium-bodied, sweet aromas of dark cherries, young plums and ripe strawberries enriched by dark herb, liquorice and spice, followed by earth and mineral crunch. The aromas are harmonious and alluring; sweet fruit, rich herb and dried floral have great intensity and perfume. Velvety tannin provides a good grip, entwined with minerals and spice. This is an immensely perfumed Pinot Noir with excellent concentration and elegance, on a velvety mouthfeel and a long-lasting finish. Match with roasted pigeons and duck over the next 6-8 years. Fruit from Lime Hill, clone 5, 115, 667, 777, 10/5 and Abel, fermented to 13.5% alc, aged 12 months in barrel on fine lees, 20% new oak. 19+/20 pts (96 pts) Dec 2021 RRP $56
