Lil Rippa Hawke’s Bay Syrah 2010

Syrah from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 18-Jul-2011
Dark, deep, full ruby-red with youthful purple hues to the colour, this has a tightly bound, clear varietal nose of well-ripened black berries, spicy oak and aromatic floral notes, quite packed and concentrated, but bright, vibrant and very primary in expression. The palate features sweet and succulent, energised black fruit flavours, very open and lively, along with black pepper and exotic spices. Fresh acidity and fine-grained, firm tannins underline the palate, resulting in depth and length. 50% of the fruit from the ‘Triangle' region and 50% from the ‘Gimblett Gravels' fermented to 13.5% alc., a portion of the wine aged in French oak. Match with spicy Middle Eastern cuisine dishes, casseroles and hearty lamb dishes. 17.5-/20 Jul 2011 RRP $23.99
